I never thought this day would come, but I'm right with you Boris. Usually I am pretty much in total agreement with DWB when it comes to films, but Pain & Gain was absolute garbage on every level.

Michael Bay is a complete hack and needs putting down. Even by his horribly low standards this is simply terrible.

Only the second film I've ever rated 2 stars or lower on IMDB.

What in holy **** is a centre fielder?

I've been following footy for 36 years and have never heard of that position

Quote from Boris Lozac :Don't know who he is but

He is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alessandro_Balzan

And an English translation of his review is...

"Today, thanks to the staff of Assetto Corsa and Luca Casarotto, I had the opportunity to test their simulator.
I'd like to state that I'm not paid by Kunos Simulazione, except for the coffee, and indeed I'd like to thank them for their commitment and dedication. I'm looking forward to buy a copy immediately.

The impression, never had with other simulators, is the feeling of the car, the feel of the tyres / adhesion and especially not having to do "forced" trajectories where the grip is higher. I started at Imola, professional bias, with the 458 gt2, the car with which I won the 6h Vallelunga in real life.
In terms of graphics the combination of track/car give a staggering result, but I do not give that much importance to the beauty. I go out of the pits on cold tires and forcing immediately I can feel that the car is not ready .. taking it easy for 2-3 laps and apart than overshooting the braking point a couple of times, I never go in spin. It's not me that is good but the fact that I finally feel so gradually the loss of grip on the gas. Counter steering gives an obvious waste of laptime, but also big satisfaction for having controlled oversteer in third and fourth gear.
I could never drive like this right out of the box with any simulator, 5-6 consecutive laps without crashing heavily somewhere. Sorry in advance for the long post, I will add details if anyone is interested.

Trying the 599xxEvo, that I've really driven, the admiration for Assetto Corsa increases. From the sound to the violence of the acceleration, to the active rear wing, stunning in the replays... and then a bit of vintage Lotus Senna (98T) where you are brainwashed... manual gearbox, locking the wheels, turbo lag... thank god for modern electronics! Beautiful and cursed at the same time.

Changing to the road car BMW M3 where Aris gave me a little lesson on drifting... you can appreciate the drive-ability and the sincerity of the steering wheel even more.. Watching the replay at Magione of car drifting, let you speechless, but not with me driving eh!!

I have one word to describe Assetto Corsa. SENSATIONAL CORSA! I'd like to thank all the guys at Assetto Corsa for the opportunity. Last thing, I wanted to write what I really think based on my real life experience, so it should be taken as a free personal thinking that you might agree or not! Ciao!!"

Quote from sinbad :There's always one.

I think giving away the spare keys you might not want is bad enough, because the people you give them to aren't going to buy the bundle. I have a spare BF3 key but I'm not giving it to anyone, they should just buy it themselves. Buying an entire extra bundle and giving it away is different, of course, but splitting it up defeats the purpose imo.

Not true.

I picked up a couple of the games from people giving away their keys here. I went and purchased the bundle a day later.

Quote from Mustangman759 :have you ever driven a race car from 1949? they don't drive the same genius.

1949? We're talking about a car from 1967.

Quote from Jshort :I wish I knew what wheel you guys are using. All this "the car feels great" stuff I just don't understand. The ffb in iracing is nothing more than a bump detector.

How about you tell us what wheel you are using, and we'll take it from there..

Whilst I would agree that the feel of track bumps through the wheel is greatly exaggerated, you should have no problem at all with feeling the tyre grip and weight shift perfectly well if your wheel is set up correctly.

EDIT: Are you Joshua? (the thread in the iRacing forum calling the FFB just a bump detector is the giveaway) If so, try actually giving people the information the want so they can help you

EDIT 2: Ahh, you must be Jamie

Quote from atledreier :I must agree with blueflame on the L49. Resubbed to try it, but chocolate tires is a very good description.
in rFactor2 you can feel everything the car is doing at each corner, they are sublime on a well rubbered track and everything up to temp. The iRental one feels like it has wooden blocks for tires. And unlimited grip available for accelerating. I haven't lost it under acceleration ONCE in a night of playing. Maybe the rF2 F1 cars have prepared me for it, but at least they communicate. iRental Lotus is a mute....

Not sure what you're driving. The L49 is the most communicative car in iRacing.

I'm no fan of the feel of iRacings physics, and a huge critic of the tyres over the last few years, but i cant fault them over the feel of the 49, it's tyres, or the feedback it produces. The same goes for the Skippy now, which i hated before.

I only resubbed to try out the 49, and I'll be extending my sub again now.

Quote from Rappa Z :Has anyone else tried the 49 at Watkins Glen yet?

Yup, I hosted a session yesterday. It's sublime, a great combo....but then again, the 49 is sublime everywhere I've driven it

Quote from Rappa Z :What sort of effect does the fog have on frame rate?

Made no difference to my fps on the couple of occasions i've driven in it.

Lotus 49 is bloody fantastic.

Entirely realistic? Very doubtful.
One of the most fun cars in all of sim racing? Hell yes! An absolute joy to drive.

I'm obviously driving a different car to BlueFlame.

Quote from Postman Pat :Is anyone a bit disappointed with A.C's graphics? (Just going by screen shots and Youtube - I haven't a 'puter for it yet). Maybe I was expecting too much, but a lot of the track colour looks a bit pastel-like and with a lot of grey. Not as stark as iRacing. But the cars also, a bit plasticky looking. No?

And I'm praying they improve the sound a lot. That's so important.

I'm more than happy with graphics and sound so far. Be interested to hear a car with a more grunty engine, but the rest of the sounds seem great to me.

Quote from Mustafur :KV is not really a good car, its just a million times better then HVM.

That's what i was getting at really... it's a bloody good car compared to the junk she has been driving.

It's a good enough car to get her some podiums this season. I wouldn't be surprised to see her in victory lane if she gets a bit of luck.

Great first race of the season anyway
Will Power....the unluckiest guy in motorport.
Great to see Hinch get the win.
Great effort from Simona. Shame the tyres didn't hang on for a few more laps.

Fantastic qualy performance from Simona. Fingers crossed she converts it to a podium. More driving talent in her little finger than Danica ever had. So good to see her get a good car at last.

Quote from Boris Lozac :Btw, isn't the real Elise kinda the opposite, very oversteery?

Nope, it was developed to be more understeery for the general public, but it's very easy to induce oversteer for the more skilled driver. Seems AC got it spot on.

I'm completely sold on the FFB. Very much like nKPro so far. Sure it will be even better in the formula cars. Make sure it's not clipping as that really kills the detail.
